| This Hammer was used to tie the reins of a horse or carriage. The Hammer was struck into a tree, a fence post, or any piece of wood that was handy. It was then screwed in securely and the horse or wagon was tied to the hammer. Note the threads on the point of the hammer.This hammer was invented by Reverdy B. Steward, the Patent Number 418541, Patented December 31, 1889. |
