This Hammer circa 1882, Laundry bluing came packaged in the handle. There were enough tablets for 18 loads of wash, equal to one pint of liquid bluing. Bluing was a preparation used in laundering to counteract yellowing of white fabrics, in another word, bleach. Pictured with trade cards. (enlarged)
