The Eagle Hammer is a symbol of nature’s power and importance in maintaining the wellbeing of all life on the planet. For the Eagle Council in the Chilkat Valley of the Eagles, The Return of the Eagles each fall is a testimony to the health of our salmon and the habitat that enables their survival. This hammer also represents the spiritual power that the Tlingit People would impart in everyday tools. This power would in turn make the tools more effective, and provide a more personal connection for the craftsman and his work.
May the Eagle Hammer now be a symbol of our resolve to maintain our salmon rearing habitats and the natural wonderland that is our beloved valley.
