Inventor of the Oval Texturing Hammer for use in jewelry making.

Patti Bullard, along with her daughter, Laura Scott, started making jewelry and working with metals, stones, and glass in 2006. At Laura’s urging, the two started selling their jewelry at fine arts and crafts shows and founded a jewelry tool and supply company. Patti soon realized the tools being used by the jewelry making industry were “borrowed” from the blacksmith, electrical, and aeronautics industries. As a result, Patti saw the need to develop finely finished and ergonomically designed hammers and pliers.

Patti designed the Oval Texturing Hammer in the year 2016 and the patent was granted on February 13, 2018. The carved design on the oval face of the hammer is for texturing larger areas of a piece of jewelry while the other end is specifically made to create a complimentary texture for the edges.

Patti completed a Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology at the University of Connecticut in 2002. To date, she is credited with 18 patents for hammers and pliers. Laura took over the leadership of the Wubbers, LLc company at the beginning of 2020. While Patti is now “officially retired” she continues to design and make jewelry on a regular basis. She also enjoys traveling to trade shows and workshops with Laura.
